Liverpool have recalled Kaide Gordon from his loan spell at Norwich City as he continues to struggle for game time.

The 20-year-old winger is highly rated but found opportunities hard to come by at Carrow Road, starting for the Championship outfit just once with nine more appearances coming from the bench. As a result Gordon will make a move back to Anfield this week.

Liverpool's plan is to send the young winger straight back out for the remainder of the season. Several clubs in the Football League have expressed an interest in taking Gordon for the coming months, reports the Athletic.

Gordon became the second youngest goalscorer in the club’s history when he netted against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup in January 2022 at the age of 17, but since then his progress has been somewhat stalled by injury, but that hasn't stopped him making a mark on those who've seen him up close.

Former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders observed Gordon and was quickly blown away. He said: "I see one player who has fire in each moment that he touches the ball. He passes players like they are not even standing there. I called Jurgen immediately and said 'wow, we have a new player here'.

"We take this player into pre-season, and when do you know that you have good player around you? It's when the senior players start taking care of this young player."

Gordon made the move to Liverpool when he was still at school, joining the Premier League giants from Derby County for a fee potentially rising to £3.4million in February 2021.

Arne Slot has several more decisions to make on his young stars before the month is over. Calvin Ramsay will join Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on loan for the rest of the season. Liverpool had been eyeing the right club for him following the decision to recall him from Wigan Athletic earlier this month. He started just three league matches for the Latics.

Jayden Danns meanwhile, a scorer in in Liverpool's 4-0 thrashing of Accrington Stanley, is awaiting to find out what happens next. Slot was unsure about Danns' immediate future and said on Saturday: "The last thing [going out on loan in January], I don't know at the moment. For us, it [today] was all about the players who hadn't played that much yet, to give them playing time."
