Liverpool release blackout version of iconic Istanbul kit

Liverpool have released a blackout replica of their iconic kit worn in their dramatic comeback during the 2005 Champions League final.

The Reds pulled off one of the most monumental triumphs in Istanbul, which will go down in the history books as one of the best fightbacks in the competition's history.

As the half-time whistle sounded against AC Milan, Liverpool found themselves 3-0 down having been outplayed by their Italian opponents, with Paolo Maldini and Hernan Crespo's brace doing the damage.

They refused to give in, though, with Steven Gerrard, Vladimir Smicer and Xabi Alonso repairing the damage.

Jerzy Dudek then became the hero, saving Andriy Shevchenko decisive penalty to crown Liverpool as kings of Europe on an unforgettable evening in Turkey.

15 years on, Liverpool have released a blackout retro shirt from that night in Istanbul.
