Liverpool teenager Bobby Duncan is on the brink of joining Fiorentina on a permanent basis.
The Anfield club have given the 18-year-old striker permission to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical with the Italian side ahead of today’s European transfer deadline.
And barring any last minute hitches - Duncan will sign for Fiorentina today. He is expected to sign a three year deal.
The move will bring to an end an unsavoury saga that was exclusively revealed by MailOnline last week.
Duncan’s agent, Saif Rubie, accused Liverpool of holding the youngster against his will and ‘mentally bullying’ him by refusing to let him leave on loan in an explosive statement that was first reported on this website.
Liverpool reacted with their own strongly worded statement denying the accusations. Duncan then broke his silence by tweeting: 'I just want to play football!'
There appeared hope towards the end of last week that the tensions were cooling - but Liverpool have now decided to sell a player they signed from Manchester City for £200,000 just over 12 months ago.
A breakthrough in negotiations was made over the weekend, the fact Fiorentina are now willing to sign Duncan on a permanent basis a key factor.
Originally, Liverpool rejected two of Fiorentina’s loan offers for the teenager, which triggered last week’s saga. Danish side FC Nordsjaelland were also interested in Duncan.

Right decision. There was no way back for him after his agent attack the club on social media. Best to get rid than have this circus over a player who isn't even near the first team.
agreed let him go to be better or worse

I can see his career going the way of ravel Morrison he believes his own hype and thinks he's made it he's clearly a talent but lacks the mentality to get his head down and work good riddance

Suspect he will never be heard of again. Look at Brewster, he will get his chance this season. He earned it Duncan hasn't.

He wont play at Fiorentina either and when he fails (which he will because he clearly isnt prepared to do the work needed to get to first team football) no english club will touch him with a barge pole after the way he and his agent have behaved.

Supposedly LFC were his boyhood club of his dreams. They're playing great football and are European Champions so needed to be patient. Competition at Fiorentina is high too. What a fool. Sack your "agent". Jog on.

He knew he wasn't gonna get game time but the whole fiasco is a joke the kid need's to learn more about the other side to football before his career goes before his eyes did he really think he was gonna get game time at Liverpool for the First team when he left City? Fiorentina won't play him in their first team and in 2-3 years he'll end up in league 1 or some other random country like Ravel Morrison.

I feel for the lad but currently it seems as if he's not worth the hassle. Team chemistry might be the only thing we realistically have over City and we can't let anyone rock the boat. Best of luck to him.

Kinda feel for the lad as he is being pushed in the wrong direction. Watch him sign for a League One team in two-three years.

no one can help u develop like klopp and pep, so u left Man City where there's Pep and join Liverpool where there's Klopp and you don't want to listen to them bcoz of your big head, what is your future lies on. I think after 3years with fiorentina you will ended in leagues 2 in England instead of going up, bcoz of your big head

VERY eager to produce YET too arrogant to play your way up the rank. Saying you just want to play football is Laim excuse after refusing to play with under 23. Klopp will not stand for this type of behavior from any star, what makes you different. You should've kept on giving your all and prove yourself worthy of being capable of playing with the big boys, instead you proved yourself to be immature and pissed on your Uncles beloved LFC. Wishing you all the best should you be persistent of "playing football" YNWA!

He's burnt all his bridges at Liverpool. If I'm not mistaken he did something similar to force a move from Man City.
