Liverpool's defensive worries are not about to be eased - and Jurgen Klopp has got to solve the puzzle.
After losing Dejan Lovren on Monday, they are still of course without Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
News broke on Wednesday that the club were trying to get their hands on Burnley's James Tarkowski.
But it's fair to say Liverpool can forget about that.
Klopp now has some decisions to make - and needs to make up his mind quickly.
The Premier League rumour mill is always turning as everyone knows.
Here's the Liverpool stories to catch our eye.....
Tark talk is just that
Sean Dyche says Liverpool will not be buying - or loaning - James Tarkowski.
Speaking on Talksport, the Burnley boss said: “The only country that asks a question like this is England. Everything is sorted with buying players.
“We have four centre-halves. Three, maybe, two-and-a-half are injured so we’ll have to try and come through in the moment.
“We need them back but you cannot buy a fifth centre-half and say so you play two weeks and after that the others come in. There are a lot of rumours out there, and not much fact."
Woodburn set for switch
Liverpool are considering a number of Championship loan offers for Ben Woodburn.
The 19-year-old attacker had his season-long stay at Sheffield United was cut short.
But he could be heading back to that division now his injury issues have cleared up.
Klopp holds firm over Origi
But one player not going anywhere is Divock Origi.
The striker has only played a bit part at Anfield this season and has 18 months to run on his contract.
He has been linked with West Ham and Wolves.
But the Liverpool Echo say Jurgen Klopp won't let the forward leave.

what I think klopp should do is sign a CAM like isco or James Rodriguez or even get coutinho and play him at cam because Barcelona might get neymar back so I'd love to see coutinho back at anfield anyway I think matip is not as injured anymore so we can play him in defence but if we really do need a defender why don't we sell Lovren and get a defender like koulibally but if we need a cheaper option how about Eder militao from Porto there's even this other play who is a left midfielder called Abdulkalir omur who looks like a quality young player who we could sign so klopp has plenty of choices of transfers we need to sign someone quickly so we can keep are premier League run strong
