Arne Slot's Liverpool aren't slowing down as they look to further bolster a squad which won the Premier League title in their manager's first season at the helm
Liverpool have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs this summer but they might not be done. The Reds have already broken the league's transfer record once, and there's a chance they could do it again before the transfer window shuts.
That record-breaking £116million move for Florian Wirtz is just one of a number of high-profile deals. Arne Slot's title-holders have also added the likes of Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Ekitike as they look to defend their crown.
The big remaining question concerns whether Alexander Isak will move to Anfield. Newcastle don't want to part ways with the Sweden international if they can avoid it, but another record bid could force their hand.
Liverpool will begin their league campaign at home to Bournemouth on August 15. That leaves them with a fortnight to get more business done.
There have also been sales, and there could be more to come. Here are Mirror Football's latest lines on the ins and outs around Anfield.
Slot's response to Diaz deal
Arne Slot has spoken for the first time about Luis Diaz's Liverpool exit. Colombian international Diaz has completed a £65.5m move to Bayern Munich, despite the Reds appearing keen to keep him around.
"Luis is a player we won the league with and there’s a reason we won it with him because he’s a very good player," Slot said during Liverpool's pre-season tour. "It’s always disappointing to see someone like that leave, to a certain extent.
"But on the other hand, we’ve sold him for a lot of money and, as you probably know even better than I do, this football club brings in unbelievable signings over the years, but part of the strategy is also that once in a while we have to sell someone. I think we did great business by bringing in Lucho for a number of years and then selling him for a very good profit."
Isak's comments on his future
Liverpool target Alexander Isak helped Newcastle secure a Champions League return with his goals last season. Before the end of the campaign, though, he spoke of a desire to win silverware - and a league title may currently be beyond the Magpies given the spending power of their rivals.
"I've said many times, I don't really look too much or think too much about my future," Isak said in the spring. "But yeah, I've said I'm happy here and we are contenders for titles, which is what you want to win as a football player.
"The chances are there (to win things). Yeah, as I’ve said, I’m not thinking about the summer, but that will be a talking point when the season is finished."
Isak training in Spain
While Liverpool wait to learn if they will be able to land Isak, the striker has begun training with former club Real Sociedad. The striker is working his way back from the minor injury which has kept him out of Newcastle's pre-season tour, with Sky Sports reporting the Magpies were aware of his plans to head to San Sebastian.
"He is still our player. He’s contracted to us. We, to a degree, control what is next for him," Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said earlier in the week.
"I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us. My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control"

I still don't believe Isak is our answer to defending the title. Further more Newcastle are not Keen on selling him and he's too expensive

New Castle will suffer it if they keep unhappy Isak, they won't get the best out of him and then the value will drop drastically

my guess is he will not be a Liverpool player this season because good business would have said get the expensive player first then sell a few and get the less expensive players you don't spend £115 m and then sit around waiting to spend another £150 m on a player that his club want to keep plus at this moment he is injured are you buying a Lemon
