Liverpool's players fall to the floor for recovery yoga following pre-season defeat

Liverpool's players were put into recovery mode on Monday afternoon following the pre-season friendly defeat by Borussia Dortmund.

All of the first team, except for those still on holiday after the World Cup, spent most of the session at the Westin Charlette Hotel in North Carolina on the floor while doing yoga.

A number of the players, including Mohamed Salah, seemed to be having a good time at least with the Egypt international spotted laughing and joking.

It may have been the sight of manager Jurgen Klopp on an exercise bike that gave Salah reason to laugh.

The Liverpool boss was closely watched by Andreas Konmayer, the club's head of fitness and conditioning.

The trip to America has been largely positive with goalkeeper Alisson's arrival being confirmed before the club flew out.

The signing of Alisson has cast doubt over the future of Loris Karius.

The German goalkeeper has lost his position as Anfield's No 1 goalkeeper following Klopp's decision to strike a deal worth up to £65million for Alisson, who will join up with Liverpool's squad for the first time next week once his summer holiday is over.

Klopp has made it clear that Alisson will only have a short period to settle in – the intention is to give him his debut against Napoli on August 4 in Dublin after next week's training camp in – and the implications for Karius are clear.

Karius said: 'Of course that's not perfect for me, but I cannot say much more about that either.

'I do not know that (whether he will leave before the deadline); I cannot say what I'm doing right now, there's still some time left.'
