Hugo Lloris believes Tottenham forward Heung-min Son is enjoying the best form of his career and is now having 'big impact in the big games'.
Son has carried the goalscoring burden for Mauricio Pochettino's side in the absence of the injured Harry Kane and has netted 13 goals in his last 16 appearances in all competitions, with strikes in each of his last four outings - all victories for Tottenham.
The South Korea international opened the scoring in Tottenham's 3-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League knockout clash to help Spurs put one foot into the quarter-final.
'Sonny has been very consistent in the past few seasons and he is improving individually his stats and his big impact in the big games,' said Lloris. 'That's why the gaffer, the club and his team-mates have faith.
'He's very talented, he has a lot of skills and at the moment he is playing at his best.'
While Tottenham's title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are both in action during the coming week, Spurs do not play again until Saturday having had the weekend off due to being knocked out of the FA Cup in the previous round.
Man City faced Newport in the competition yesterday while both they and Liverpool are engaged in Champions League action this week.
Lloris is planning to enjoy some 'holiday' time with his family amid a break that the goalkeeper believes has come at the perfect time for Tottenham who will 'need everyone' in their push for European and Premier League glory.
Kane and Dele Alli are both set to return from injury ahead of schedule which could coincide with Tottenham's run of huge fixtures. Spurs sit five points adrift of Man City and Liverpool.
After a trip to Burnley, Spurs face three huge matches with Premier League clashes against Chelsea and Arsenal before the second leg against Dortmund.
'We all know it was a tough period in the last few weeks and it's a good moment to switch off a little bit and enjoy time with our family and friends, and then to be back next week with a fresh mind and ready to work,' said Lloris.
'It's always better for the players being injured to come back to a winning team, it takes pressure off their shoulders.
'But we need everyone now, there are three or four months to go and we need to give our best.
'We know in football nothing is done and things can turn very easily if you don't respect basics.
'We just need to forget about this result, keep the right feeling and confidence from this game because the second leg will be tough.'

Harry Kane is a penalty specialist. Average in dribbling , lacking a powerful header he is an average striker
average in dribbling while he scored an goal passing by 2 barcelona defenders, man if u say one of the best goal scorers is average, u shouldn't be watching football, change ur favourite sport

Eriksen has been useless recently. My word when was the last time he scored from a free kick. A comparison with like for like players would be interesting, and Spurs get loads of free kicks as well. What a waste!

Eriksen has done so much for the team the whole season. Creating goals, controlling midfield, key passes, defensive contribution and he's even scored some important goals. To say he's useless because of a lack of free kick goals is just over the top stupid. He's the playmaker, not the goalscorer.

if u say Erickson has been useless these days because he has not been scoring free kicks then you don't know what football is

I think Son is a much better player than both Alli and Kane combined. Spurs is nothing without Eriksen and Son.

Everyone talks about Kane and Eriksen, but Son has been incredible this season and a bigger goal threat than Kane.

He used to be wasteful for sure, but not for the past year or so in general.

I personally think Son is underrated. I know he's generally highly rated, but I mean underrated as in that people don't think of him as a world class player. I think he's world class

I think it's difficult to say he's a bigger threat than Kane since the double marking of Kane usually gets him some space. And Kane has given him a few assists as well.

A lot of teams are going to come knocking in the summer now that he got military exemption And I believe he won't leave unless the board wants him to.

He didn't get to go to the previous Asia Games which Korea won because his club wouldn't let him go. Think they also sold him slightly on the cheap because they thought the prospect of his military call up limited his value to a club.

Only 26, still has 4-5 more good years left too. I watched him 6 or 7 times in person when he was at Hamburg, always been one of my favorites.
