Lucas Digne has hit back at the Liverpool fans who mocked him for his 'I never walk alone' tattoo - by claiming they are only angry because he turned down the chance to move to Anfield twice.
Some Reds supporters took to social media earlier this week to point out that Everton's latest signing has a phrase remarkably similar to Liverpool's famous 'You'll never walk alone' motto inked across his chest.
But speaking in a press conference after his ยฃ18million switch from Barcelona, Digne revealed that his tattoo has nothing to do with the Blues' local rivals.
He said: 'My tattoo has a story but it's not about football.
'When I was three or four years old, I went for my first day at school and my parents gave me a necklace with these words.'
And in a move which has already endeared him to the blue half of Merseyside, Digne also revealed that he has twice rejected the chance to join Liverpool.
He added: 'Maybe Liverpool fans are so angry against me because I said two times no to Liverpool. I'm blue.'

In France many people do mistakes with tatooes. The chรขvs like him don't know what they are writting in english/spanish/japanese/whatever. That's like a tatoo I saw in London... it was supposed to be in French. Made no sense at all!
