The images of the post-match scuffle following Argentina's 2-1 win against Bolivia in La Paz went all around the world, thanks in part to the presence of Lionel Messi.
The scuffle was started by the players themselves, but it seemed to go up a notch when the Bolivian national team's Argentinian physio said a few words to Messi, who did not react well to his comments.
"What's wrong with you, baldy?" Messi responded. "What are you making a big deal out of it? You don't have to come and f**k with me."
One day after the incident occurred, Nava wanted to make clear that it was due to a misunderstanding and made clear that he has nothing but respect for Messi.
"I grew up watching Messi play, he's the greatest thing there is," Nava told Radio Colonia. "I admire him so much that my son is named Lionel after him."
When quizzed about the incident, the physio states that he was simply trying to act as peacemaker.
"The match ended and I saw that a brawl was going on and I simply wanted to separate [everyone] to avoid any kind of sending off," Neva said. "At that moment it seems that there was a misunderstanding, but these are things that happen on the pitch."
Although at first Neva didn't think much of what had occurred, he soon realised that he had made a mistake.
"I received insults and threats because of the situation that happened with Messi," he explained. "It hurt me that my children listened to them talk about me."
Bolivia will look to get their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track in the next international break when they face Ecuador and Paraguay in November, having lost their opening two matches to Brazil and Argentina.
For the Albiceleste, they have two wins from two after beating Ecuador and Bolivia, and they will want to add to this next month when they take on Paraguay and Peru.

still, your criticism and abuses towards him throughout the 90 minutes was not a good thing... you need to act professionally, cuz if you guys don't, how can you expect fans to behave normally and with respect ?

A lot shame on messi, Losing control for a person screaming from his own team's bench, and rest Argentinian teammates were silent, if this was neymar or Ronaldo everyone blame them blindly,

Meanwhile Messi:- is it? Do you really love me so much, that you can break into anyone's (special) home in Catalunya? If yes, then tie him up and take a packet of vaseline too. 😂😂
