There is no doubt that Luis Suarez has fallen on his feet at Atletico Madrid and, with the exception of the matches against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, the Uruguayan has performed at a high level in most of his appearances for the club.
With nine goals in 16 games, Suarez has played his part for Diego Simeone's team and has even been singled out as being the striker that Atleti have been looking for since the 2013/14 campaign, when they had David Villa and Diego Costa within their ranks.
Back in 2014, Costa and Villa had scored 40 goals in just 15 games, while this year Los Colchoneros are on 30 goals, with Marcos Llorente playing alongside Suarez following Costa's exit.
Both seasons for Suarez and Villa are reminiscent of each other, with both strikers coming from Barcelona to score the goals for Atletico. Suarez currently stands just one goal in front of Villa's tally in 2013/14.
Both joined Atletico on the cheap
Atletico sealed the arrival of Luis Suarez on a free transfer, and it wasn't too dissimilar when David Villa arrived at the club.
Villa also arrived at the club for a low fee and came after being crowned champions with Barcelona and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
They both have also shared a dressing room with Diego Costa, as well as players like Koke and Arda Turan during their careers.

Suarez was too relaxed at Barca which made him feel untouchable but when he moved to atletico a fire was ignited in him which made it look like the old Suarez is back.

Letting him go isn't a mistake. People are forgetting his misses in Anfield . Also he wasn't good in front of goal like before. But with Brathwaite we can't compete for anything. Suarez is declining ...So we had to let him go .
