Maddison calls Gerwyn Price to a darts match after practising with girlfriend

JAMES MADDISON has challenged darts world champion Gerwyn Price to a match after practising on a date night with his girlfriend.

The Leicester midfielder enjoyed an evening with his model partner Kennedy Alexa as the international break gets underway.

And Maddison used the down time to call out former darts world champion Price.

The Welsh star, who is known as The Iceman, is currently the No2 ranked darts player on the planet.

But after an evening of practice, Maddison jokingly called him out for a match.

Alongside a video showing the various dart boards around him, he added the caption: "Gezzy I'm ready for you pal..."

Maddison has enjoyed a return to form over the last few months following a disappointing 2021.

He has scored seven Premier League goals and assisted three more in his last 14 matches.

And that included the winner in Leicester's 2-1 victory over Brentford on Sunday.

Yet despite his impressive performances, Maddison has still been unable to force his way back into the England set-up.

Gareth Southgate left him out of his squad for the national team's upcoming friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast.

He has only featured once for the Three Lions - as a substitute against Montenegro in November 2019.

And time is running out if he hopes to force his way into the squad for the World Cup later this year.
