Madrid new signing Rodrygo given hero's send-off by Santos

Santos gave Rodrygo Goes a hero's send-off after his final game before joining Real Madrid this summer.

The 18-year-old's 45 million euro move to Los Blancos was announced earlier this year.

Rodrygo is the latest high-profile player to come through Santos' famous academy, following in the footsteps of the likes of Pele, Robinho and Neymar.

The teenager and his family watched from the pitch at the Estadio Vila Belmiro as a video was put on the big screen thanking the departing player.

The emotional video brought the Brazilian to tears, along with his family.

Rodrygo was presented with a commemorative shirt with the number 82 on - the total number of games he's played for the club.

He wasn't allowed to play against Corinthians due to an ongoing dispute between the Confederation of Brazilian Football (CBF) and Santos, but his teammates were able to win for him.

Rodrygo will now travel to Madrid and will likely be presented next week.
