Harry Maguire was left frustrated following Manchester United's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire believes the Red Devils were complacent in their 1-0 loss to Premier League rivals Arsenal.
United's Premier League woes continued after succumbing to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 69th-minute penalty at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United humbled last season's Champions League semi-finalists RB Leipzig 5-0 midweek but were off the pace against Arsenal.
United – who languish 15th in the table – have collected just seven points from their six Premier League games this season, the club's lowest tally at this stage since David Moyes' short stint at the helm in 2013-14, while they are now winless in their past six league home games.
Reflecting on United's third defeat of the Premier League season, Maguire told Sky Sports: "It is hard to put a finger on it. We didn't start the game well, gave the ball away far too much in the first half.
"We can't find excuses so we just have to look within. We were not at it from the start. I don't think the concentration was there in the first half, in terms of the cleanness of the passing. Maybe we were a bit complacent [after the Leipzig win], everybody was patting us on the back.
"But you win and you lose, and you have got to stay level-headed, it is a long old season. I can't put my finger on it. We will analyse it this week. We have another big game on Wednesday [in Istanbul] and we have to move on quickly and we have to improve."
As a result of the defeat, United have failed to win any of their opening four top-flight games at Old Trafford for the first time since 1972-73, a campaign in which they finished 18th.
It was also the first time United have lost at home to Arsenal in the league since September 2006.
Busy schedule for United
Looking ahead to Wednesday's Champions League trip to Istanbul Basaksehir before travelling to Everton three days later, Maguire added: "It was a cagey game. A game of few chances. They had probably one or two chances, a bit more than us. We needed to do more, we needed to create more.
"It was important to start the game well and we didn't start the game well enough. We just gave the ball away too much. If you play any Premier League game and you give the ball away as much as we did, especially in that first half, you are not going to win games of football.
"It is not good enough. We have to work hard tomorrow in training and improve."

Seriously too many excuse every time we loss, it’s like they’ve all just started playing football. The win against Leipzig we good but don’t believe the hype. Move on the next one with the same hunger to win. PL football is different from CL. Arsenal came with intent and left with the points we badly needed. What more incentive do we need, old bitter rivals as well. We were roughed up, schooled in passing & moving into space. Oles not great at chess that clear because his tactics & decision making is worrying. Apparently we have quality in depth.. why not use it then. No he wants to why you can see certain players aren’t having the right effect on the game pull em off.
