Harry Maguire has warned Liverpool that his Manchester United side are "confident" of taking three points from the Reds on Sunday afternoon.
The new United captain believes the draw that took place between the two teams back in November will serve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men well when they come to Anfield for the 4.30pm kick-off.
Maguire was named the new captain of United after Ashley Young's ยฃ1.28m move to Inter Milan was confirmed on Friday.
Liverpool's 1-1 draw with United at Old Trafford represents the only time Jurgen Klopp's side have failed to take all three points from a game in the the Premier League so far this season.
Speaking to the club's official website Maguire said his side will be relishing the opportunity to try and do it again.
When asked if their previous result against the Reds will give them a boost, Maguire said: "Yes, it gives us confidence, but as a team we're confident going into any game.
"We drew against Liverpool and we beat City, who are the top teams in the Premier League at the moment, so we're confident that we can get three points from any game and that's what we'll be going to do on Sunday."

it will be an easy game for liverpool if man united do not play well. but if they play well i think they can manage a draw.

I guess Maguire has suddenly forgotten that the Lfc then that they (Man U) drew with earlier on in the season, is quite a different one today by a huge contrast though. At that time though, Lfc was just beginning to get it's foot on the game, with only right games played in the season then, but has been remarkably strong, fierce, robust, and just too clinical after that United game, in all the other games thereafter. In my opinion, United should be waried of this in form Liverpool team, and stop fantasising over a win at Anfield!
