Mail: Carrick's position precarious as he arrives at Carrington training ground

The Mail reported that Carrick had arrived at Manchester United's training ground, fueling growing speculation about his future as manager.

On Monday afternoon, Carrick was photographed arriving at the Carrington training base after the club's owners and senior management held a crisis meeting to discuss his potential dismissal.

Manchester United's fringe first-team players and Under-21 squad members, including Tyler Fletcher, Harry Amass, and Shea Lacey, were participating in a behind-closed-doors friendly match against Hull City. The game kicked off at 2 PM, though it remains unclear whether this was the reason for Carrick's presence on his day off.

CEO Omar Berrada and Football Director Jason Wilcox arrived at the training ground early on Monday. Most Manchester United players were given a day off following the 3-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, although Bruno Fernandes, Patrick Dorgu, and Ugarte came to Carrington for treatment.

Carrick benched Bruno Fernandes in the AFC Bournemouth match, with the captain relegated to the substitute bench after criticizing the team's tactics following the Champions League loss to Como the previous week.

It is understood that Berrada and Wilcox held a conference call with co-chairmen Joel and Avram Glazer and minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe to decide on Carrick's future and to identify a successor should the 45-year-old manager be dismissed.
