Man City 2-0 West Ham: De Bruyne stars with goal & assist in routine win

Kevin De Bruyne scored one and assisted another as Manchester City eased to a 2-0 win over West Ham in the Premier League on Wednesday.

The build-up to the game was dominated by talk of a two-year ban from European football imposed on City by UEFA for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.

But it was business as usual on the pitch for City as Rodri made a breakthrough in the first half with his first home goal for the club and Kevin De Bruyne added a second just after the hour.

That proved enough for Pep Guardiola's men, who bounced back from their 2-0 loss at Tottenham earlier this month to open up a four-point gap on third-place Leicester City.

De Bruyne starts the move, fizzing the ball into the feet of Bernardo Silva, who, with his back to goal, flicks the ball around the defender.

Silva attempts to latch onto his own flick but De Bruyne continues his run and has the momentum to get there ahead of his team-mate.

The Belgian side foots the ball past Fabianski at his near post to double his side's advantage.

David Silva clips the ball with the outside of his boot to the far post where Jesus is unmarked.

The Brazilian striker brings the ball down on his chest before striking it goalwards, but Fabianski is quickly off his line to make a smart block.
