In one of the matches of the Premier League season at the Etihad Stadium, Leicester City came close to an unlikely comeback after going four goals behind by half time, but their third goal after the break served as a wake-up call for Manchester City, who put six past Brendan Rodgers' side to grab a well-earned 6-3 win.
Match Reports
The hosts got off to a great start and they managed to net four times in the first 25 minutes. Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring and then Riyad Mahrez converted from the spot after Aymeric Laporte was brought down in the box.
Manchester City looked absolutely dominant in the opening 45 minutes and took a three-goal lead through Ilkay Gundogan, with Raheem Sterling also netting a spot-kick after Youri Tielemans conceded his second penalty.
Kasper Schmeichel produced a couple of big saves to prevent the Sky Blues from extending their lead in the first half and when everything indicated that the game was practically over, Leicester City netted three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half.
An in-form James Maddison pulled one back and Ademola Lookman hit on the counter, before Kelechi Iheanacho scored one of his own six minutes after the hour mark.
Although Manchester City seemed unable to react in the meantime, Guardiola's men bounced back after conceding the third, with Laporte heading home from a corner kick.
Leicester pushed forward in their bid to complete an almighty comeback, but failed to beat Ederson again and Sterling scored a sixth from a corner kick to put the game to bed.
The Sky Blues are still sitting top in the Premier League table, six points clear, while a struggling Leicester City are 10th with 22 points after 17 games played thus far.

Alex Ferguson was successful bcoz there no other teams has the competitive players against Man United … if Alex manage these days then he will be average coach … not like Pep … Pep beats Alex Ferguson twice in Champion League final

just a reminder that Man City have scored 17 goals in their last 3 games without a proper striker. Meanwhile 👇 Media: Manchester City needs a proper striker.
