Man City ace Phil Foden reveals biggest difference between Erling Haaland and Harry Kane

Manchester City starlet Phil Foden has compared club teammate Erling Haaland and international teammate Harry Kane, suggesting there is one major difference between the two players.

Haaland has made a scintillating start to life with the Blues following his summer switch from Borussia Dortmund, with the Norwegian frontman registering 23 goals and three assists in 18 appearances in all competitions. The 22-year-old is currently the Premier League's top goalscorer, with Kane second in the rankings.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward has scored 12 goals in the top flight so far this term and trails Haaland by six. The pair were set to go head-to-head in September, but City's clash against the London outfit was postponed.

When asked about the similarities and differences between Haaland and Kane, Foden - who has played alongside the two forwards - suggested that their movement is different.

"Well, they both can score goals, can’t they," he told the Times. "Harry likes to drop, he can pick that pass off, whereas Erling is more, 'I want to be in front of the goal and stay there and everything that comes my way I’m going to score'. It’s a pleasure to play with both."

Kane is under pressure to deliver for England at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, with the Spurs star wearing the captain's armband and leading the line for Gareth Southgate's side.

However, Foden has insisted that the Three Lions can't solely rely on him and that the other attackers in the squad need to step up and deliver.

He added: "We can’t always rely on Harry because teams are going to try to cut him off because of how good he is. It is going to take not just Harry to step up this tournament. Us attacking players are going to have to step up as well at times."
