Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will not be on the touchline for Saturday's clash with Wolves after picking up three yellow cards from the dugout.
The Catalan will be able to enter the dressing room and give interviews but will not be able to be pitchside. The Blues boss was given a caution in Wednesday's League Cup defeat to Newcastle during the second half for verbals with the fourth official, so will serve a suspension and is thought to be watching the game from the directors' box.
Speaking about his booking post-match, Guardiola said: "I don't know how many fouls they did, how many fouls we had and the number of yellow cards. But it is what it is, sometimes the emotions are there. Respect for the referees and their job. A well-deserved yellow card."
Guardiola was booked against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle this week and having been booked on the opening weekend of the season at Burnley that means he serves a one-game touchline ban. He also missed a handful of City matches after undergoing back surgery in August.
Last season the threshold for a ban was four cards, but this was reduced to three after the PGMOL - the governing body for referees - announced a clampdown on adverse touchline behaviour this summer.
In agreement with the Premier League, EFL and other bodies, it implemented a new set of rules which outlines the penalties managers can expect to face for breaching certain rules.
For example, no more than one person is allowed to stand inside the technical area unless close to the bench while those who breach the dugout lines can be yellow-carded. Aggressive behaviour towards an official can lead to a red card which leads to a two-match ban.
Rules have been tightened regarding player behaviour too. A player can expect to receive an automatic yellow card for being the second - or third, etc - player approaching the referee while cautions are also strictly handed out for kicking the ball away in order to waste time or prevent the restart of play.

All these depend on the players bcoz if they know what is FULL DELIVERY, then they must atoll times put up their best characters. Players are celebrities, too all must know that their actions count a lot to the public.
