Manchester City are considering whether to activate the buy-back clause of PSV Eindhoven full-back Angelino.

City sold the talented young Spaniard last summer for £4.9million but inserted a clause allowing them to buy him back for £11m.
The 22-year old has had an excellent season in Holland which has prompted interest from some of Europe's top clubs including Arsenal, PSG, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.

Jose Angel Tasende, better known as Angelino, played 34 matches in the Dutch Eredivisie last season, scoring once and providing nine assists.
PSV Eindhoven ended up in a clear second place, three points behind eventual winners Ajax but 18 points clear of third placed Feyenoord.
Angelino joined Manchester City's academy in July 2013, and played regularly for the Under-18s. He then joined New York City FC on loan in July 2015 before returning to make his debut for the City first team in the FA Cup in January 2016. He also played as a second half substitute in a Champions League play-off match against Steaua Bucharest.
He had further loan spells at Girona and Mallorca, and spent the 2017-18 season on loan with NAC Breda before joining PSV Eindhoven.
Now he may be on his way back to the Etihad as Pep Guardiola looks to add more depth to his back line.

He is an excellent left-back, and a Manchester City youth player. He has been in the best team in the Dutch League for two consecutive seasons. Why not leave him?

Didn't know City had that clause, good for them. Should get a chance at starting at lb We have this clause in almost every young player we sell. We even have a transfer match clause for Sancho. What's a transfer match clause? City gets preference for a transfer back if they equal the highest bid?

Makes sense from a financial standpoint, they can easily flip him and make a 10/20m profit. Not so much from a football standpoint though, he was a great fit for PSV and I'm not sure he can cut it at a club like PSG. Ehh, I think he adds value to their team. Look at who they still are running at LB half the season. Angelino is really really good, and PSV seems to have stomped out his ‘bad boy’ imagine he was cultivating (#69, thinking of himself over his team whilst at NAC).

I don't think he'd played a game when that buy-back clause was negotiated, he'd been out on loan but only at a relatively low level (unless I'm mistaken). City effectively just paid PSV to loan their player, I don't think PSV will feel hard done by.
