Manchester City are set to lose highly rated teenager Brahim Diaz, with a new contract offered to him likely to remain unsigned, according to ESPN FC.
The 19-year-old's deal runs until the end of the season and he will be able to speak to other clubs from January if the issue remains unresolved.
Real Madrid have been scouting Spain under-21 international Brahim while Borussia Dortmund are keen to bring in more young talent from the Premier League following the success of his former City teammate Jadon Sancho.
Brahim has made just two appearances this season -- in the Community Shield and the Carabao Cup victory over League One side Oxford United -- and sources have told ESPN FC there is frustration at a lack of game time.
City boss Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the former Malaga youth player, but he has to oust Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva to get an opportunity.
Brahim, who impressed in a lively 55-minute display against Oxford before being taken off injured, has not been named in the squad for any of City's Premier League or Champions League matches this season.
ESPN FC has been told he decided against joining City's Spanish sister club Girona in the summer in a bid to try to force his way into the first team.
A number of top European sides appear certain to be interested if he becomes available for a relatively small amount of compensation.
His loss would also be a setback to City's desire to bring through their own players with only England U21 midfielder Phil Foden close to becoming a first-team regular.

He's a very good young talent. I wouldn't feel too upset as a citizen if he left. At least his career would spring to life elsewhere & his talent can be showcased all over the world.
It is hard for him to break through because we have a lot of young forwards but maybe he could split time with Jesus after aguero leaves, we didn’t feel too sad when sancho left but this season he has 5 goals, 10 assists and only 4 starts in all comps for Dortmund

Brahim Diaz deserve an opportunity to have more playing time and I opine Dortmund will be a good choice to start off. All the best Brahim for your next career movement.

As it’s coming up to Halloween, here’s a horror story for any City fan... It’s the end of the 2024/2025 season, Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz and Jadon Sancho have all scored over 20 goals and got over 15 assists each in a record-breaking season for Dortmund. City finish 16th.

Brahim Diaz could leave the club when his contract expires.

Brahim Diaz is such a good and bright talent that comes from the Academy, and it is time for him to have more playing time elsewhere. We have to let him go and its the best for his career development. All the best Brahim.

if he goes it’s not a problem. We can’t keep offering contracts to players that don’t play and let’s be honest here there’s a number of players in Diaz’s way to the first team,Foden is one of them.
