Liverpool fans were bemused by a chant sang by Manchester City supporters during club legend Vincent Kompany's testimonial.
Reds' fans reacted on social media as City supporters reportedly sang about Steven Gerrard's slip against Chelsea during the 2013/14 title race - which eventually saw the Manchester club crowned champions - within five minutes of kick off.
Many supporters were shocked City fans were singing about the Kop legend on a night which served to honour their former captain who led them to four top flight titles.
Liverpool midfielder James Milner was on the bench for the legends as Man City legends drew 2-2 with a Premier League legends team which included Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher.
Former Liverpool forward Robbie Keane scored, as did Robin van Persie, Martin Petrov and Benjani. The likes of Mario Balotelli, Craig Bellamy and Didi Hamann were all involved in the game.
The match was in aid of Tackle4MCR, a charity set up by Kompany to help tackle homelessness in Greater Manchester.
