Derby goalkeeper Scott Carson is in talks over a move to Manchester City.
The 33-year-old is expected to agree a season loan following a medical on Thursday morning.
Carson will boost City's homegrown quota and is set to provide backup for Ederson and Claudio Bravo for Pep Guardiola's side.
Nottingham Forest had been talking to Carson earlier this week.
City saw a deal for Eibar's Asier Riesgo fall through last month.
Last season Carson made 30 appearances for Derby in the Championship but he has fallen down the pecking order, with Kelle Roos and Jonathan Mitchell having overtaken him.
City allowed Aro Muric to join Nottingham Forest on loan, while recent signing Zack Steffen will spend the season with Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Carson, who was capped four times by England between 2007 and 2011, possesses a wealth of Premier League experience.
The shot-stopper has played 145 times in the top flight, having featured in the division for Leeds, Liverpool, Charlton, Aston Villa and West Brom.
City have signed Rodri and Joao Cancelo this summer, while they also re-signed defender Angelino.
