Man City line up predicted vs Brighton

Manchester City will welcome Brighton to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday looking to extend their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

Pep Guardiola's men are on a quest to secure their third successive title and currently sit second in the standings, two points behind last season's main challengers Liverpool.

City got back to winning ways last week by defeating Bournemouth 3-1 at Dean Court. David Silva was exceptional in the victory with Sergio Aguero also netting a brace.

With the international break beckoning, Guardiola has some big decisions to make regarding his team selection - who will he start?

Ederson may have been lucky to escape a sending off against the Cherries after rushing off his line to make a reckless challenge, but will definitely retain his place between the sticks.

Joao Cancelo featured for the first time after coming off the bench and Guardiola could reward the Portuguese with his first start since joining from Juventus if he chooses to rest Kyle Walker.

John Stones has returned to training following a muscle injury but it's unlikely the Englishman will be risked against the Seagulls. Therefore, Nicolas Otamendi should partner Aymeric Laporte in the middle - the Frenchman could be in line to make his first appearance for France during the next international fixtures.

Oleks Zinchenko will likely play at left back as Benjamin Mendy continues his recovery.

Guardiola has a real selection headache in midfield with Rodri, Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan all vying for a starting spot. Gundogan was preferred against Bournemouth while Rodri's start to life in England has been impressive. Fernandinho remains an outsider after returning to fitness.

Following David Silva's masterful performance, it's difficult to drop the Spaniard, who should partner Kevin De Bruyne in the engine room. Therefore, Rodri could get the nod to provide some extra cover.

Raheem Sterling has started the season in blistering form and is can't be dropped from the starting XI. Bernardo Silva should also retain his place in attack.

With Gabriel Jesus injured until after the international break, Aguero will once again lead the line looking to cement his place as the first-choice forward.
