Manchester City must use their failure to win the Premier League in back-to-back campaigns as motivation to return to the top next season, so says Erling Haaland.
City's slim hopes of winning a domestic treble were dashed as they could only draw 1-1 with Bournemouth on Tuesday.
Haaland slammed home in the 95th minute at the Vitality Stadium, where Bournemouth, who led through Junior Kroupi's first-half strike, had missed several golden chances to add to their advantage.
However, a point was not enough for City, who needed to win to keep the title race alive heading into the final day, meaning Arsenal are now champions for the first time in 22 years.
Though City have won both the EFL Cup and FA Cup this season, Haaland insists they must use the fact they have failed to win the Premier League since 2024 as extra motivation to get back to their best.
"In the end, every game in the Premier League is difficult. We tried. It wasn't enough," Haaland told City's media channels.
"The whole club should use this as motivation now. We should be angry, we should feel a fire inside our belly because it's not good enough.
"It's been two years now, it feels like forever. We're going to do everything we can, everyone who will be here next season, to win the league.
"It was better than last season. I felt we could've still pushed a little more in the league, but again it's over now, so it's easy to say now. We won two trophies, which is important, but we wanted the Premier League as well."
For the first time in his managerial career, Pep Guardiola has failed to win the league title in consecutive seasons in charge.
And it seems increasingly likely Guardiola will not be there to steer the ship into an 11th campaign at City, with widespread reports emerging earlier this week that he will leave at the end of the season.
Guardiola brushed off the speculation in his media duties before and after the game, as focus now turns to his potential farewell, at home against Aston Villa on Sunday.
