Man City 'open to selling' attacking star to fund Jude Bellingham move and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly 'open' to selling attacker Jack Grealish in order to fund a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

While Pep Guardiola is highly unlikely to let Grealish leave the Etihad Stadium, sources have reportedly told Football Insider that the Blues are stepping-up their interest in Bellingham, who is expected to depart the Bundesliga outfit next summer - with a January move for the player also being tentatively reported.

Grealish, who arrived at the club for £100m from Aston Villa in 2021, has scored just seven goals in 55 appearances for Guardiola's side, but has looked much-improved under the Spaniard so far this term. However, the 27-year-old has started on just six occasions in the Premier League this season.

The Blues are said to recognise that Bellingham will cost well in excess of £100million, which could mean that the club need to move some players on if they are to bring the Dortmund man to the club.

Elsewhere, City are reportedly interested in signing New York City youngster Christian McFarlane, with the Blues keen to add him to their youth ranks.

According to Alan Nixon on his Patreon, City are monitoring the player and want to recruit him in the new year. The reigning Premier League champions are said to see him as a useful addition to their youth ranks, with a view to him becoming a first-team player in the future.

The 15-year-old, who moved to USA at the agree of three, was born in Essex but is also eligible to play for Jamaica. McFarlane signed a homegrown contract last year, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2026.

McFarlane has made seven MLS Next Pro appearances in all competitions so far in his career and New York - who are part of the City Group - could struggle to keep hold of the talented youngster.
