Manchester United remain undecided over Anthony Martial's future at the club, with the Frenchman's contract set to expire next summer.
The Red Devils have endured a turbulent start to their 2023-24 campaign after picking up just four wins from their opening eight matches in the top-flight.
Erik ten Hag's side also sit bottom of their Champions League group after falling to defeat against both Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in their opening games.
Amid their struggles, Martial has failed to make a significant impact for the Red Devils and has started in just two Premier League games - where he failed to score in both.
Mail Sport can now reveal that the club are keeping their options regarding the forward's situation and his expiring contract.
The French striker currently has one year left on his £250,000-a-week deal but the club want to bide their time before making a decision over his future.
Martial secured a £36million move to Manchester United from Monaco as a 19-year-old back in 2015 but has failed to hit the heights that had previously been expected.
In his nine seasons at Old Trafford, Martial has made 307 appearances and managed to record 89 goals and 54 assists during that time.
Elsewhere, the club are keen on triggering contract extensions for defensive duo Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof.
Both players are also on contracts that expire in 2024 and the Red Devils, in response, will look to trigger their contract extensions in the near future.
Wan-Bissaka has particularly impressed under ten Hag and had won a starting place in the United side prior to his injury earlier in the season.
Lindelof has also played a key role for United this term, making seven appearances out of their eight Premier League outings thus far.
The Swede, however, appeared to pick up an injury when he was substituted against Brentford and headed straight down the tunnel in the second half.

If martial is fit , he is such a gud player . Man U would have won the fa cup if martial was fit to play in that final .. if his fitness improves this season then a one year contract will not be bad , check the match against bayern , efl with palace and last epl match .
There's no any chance of him staying there, though he is good player when he is fit But with those injuries of his, i don't see any benefit of keeping him even he comes back in fit, he will just have three gud games then go back to garage NO USE OF HIM NOW

Nah, Martial's time is up, let him leave. He has fail to reach the expected heights. Good luck to him and wherever he ends up. He is too injury prone. 😔 😢 Utd are desperate to be considering a new contract for someone who hasn't earned his keep. £250k a week a helluva lot of money for someone of his Calibre. It time to Right the Wrongs , ✋️ STOP over paying Duds.

I don't know if I should blame Martial or united for his decline. He was electric that first season at United and then united happened .

Only a clown club will think of offering another contract to Martial. Nobody will pay a transfer fee for him and only be interested in him as a free agent. So anyways, United are not receiving anything, but might be liable to pay Martial a part of his contract if he strong arms them. No hindsight, what a joke this club is
