Manchester United supporters flew a banner with the message 'Glazers out' over Old Trafford before their game against Chelsea on Sunday.

Fans remain angry at United's American owners for accumulating vast amounts of debt since their takeover of the club in 2005.

Since then there have been various campaigns aimed at forcing the Glazer family to sell United, but they have so far shown little interest in looking for a buyer.

Back in 2011 fans launched a 'green and gold' campaign which saw supporters buy green and gold scarves - the club's original colours - as a sign of dissidence.

However, despite David Beckham appearing to endorse the movement by draping a scarf around him as he left the pitch after United's 2010 clash with AC Milan, the campaign ran out of steam.

Several weeks ago, a supporters group wrote an open letter to the Glazer family outlining the cause of their frustration and pointing out how the club's fortunes had dipped since Sir Alex Ferguson departure in 2013.

On Sunday, former United defender Gary Neville branded fans 'muppets' for thinking their campaign would have any impact on the Glazers long term plans for the club and said they wouldn't consider selling unless they were being hurt financially.
