Manchester United have had a £55m bid for Ajax winger David Neres rejected with less than 24 hours until the transfer window shuts.
Neres, 22, impressed alongside a host of youngsters during Ajax's run to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, and was rewarded for his form with a call-up to the Brazil national team in March.
The former Sao Paulo player was also part of the squad who won the Copa America, and Neres' talents have not gone unnoticed with United now firmly interested in the Brazilian, acocrding to Brazilian outlet UOL.
