Manchester United are set to remove around 850 hospitality seats from the heart of the Stretford End as part of an ongoing bid to improve the atmosphere at Old Trafford.
United fans had criticised the club for installing hospitality tickets in what is supposed to be the most vocal part of the stadium and campaigned for them to be moved elsewhere for 25 years.
The club have confirmed the padded seats in the affected block, which cost around Β£3,000 a season, will revert to general admission tickets from the 2024-2025 campaign following discussions with supporters and its Fan Advisory Board.
The International Suite - which does not include complimentary matchday wining and dining - had been placed in the first tier of the Stretford End back in 2000.
Supporters had long called for the seats to go back to general admission and the topic was a key part of an open letter the Manchester United Supporters' Trust wrote to the club back in 2018.
Fans had decried how United were one of the only clubs to install executive seats in the loudest area of their stadium.
The decision to remove the executive seats comes amid a concerted effort from the club to give fans a greater say in decision-making on issues relating to match-going supporters.
United recently polled season ticket holders on how returned tickets for away matches should be distributed and also introduced a 'singing section' in the Stretford End, organised and run by a group called The Red Army (TRA), to improve the atmosphere at Old Trafford.
'Fans and fan groups including MUST and TRA have long campaigned for us to remove the executive seats from the heart of the Stretford End and to make them standard tickets and therefore more accessible to all fans,' said United's head of fan engagement Rick McGagh.
'We have listened and agree that as many fans as possible should have the chance to be a 'Stretford Ender'. We have worked with our Fans' Advisory Board in recent months to make this happen and we are all looking forward to an even louder Stretford End from August 2024.'

u mean dalot and tominay aren't good enough well its a process dou and u guys are not good with transfers d players u mentioned will not do well with an average coach and u can't get dem all because ur not d only one chasing dem while Chelsea and PSG and my beloveth Madrid pay straight up for players without prising much even arsenal don't spend much but d little dey sign gives his best and dey have a style of play dose man u have any or dey depend on a certain rashford and Bruno to get d goals and wen dey are not inform man u can't produce results
Everyone I mentioned isn't good or is overrated, you say average couch but he made it to a semil final with Ajax so very far from average and besides he doing better already than Ralf and ole π, it's different tho this season we'd be getting champions league which last season we didn't so that's why we never sign big names last time we got 2nd we signed varane, Ronaldo and sancho which are big names and far better than anything we got before. This season is also the first season we don't have Ed Woodward doing are transfers π he was the one who chose Maguire over Koulibaly and chose Lindeflop over Van Dijk and your telling me that's the managers fault π, if we had champions league and owners that spend money we'd never be in this mess in the first place yeah we spend loads but we spend loads without champions league so we are besically forced to sign bad players. things have changed and just cause we lost to arsenal doesn't mean its the end of the world considering we bet every other top team whereas before we'd lose them all or draw π. We'll get champions league and will win some silverware this season watch and see. Casemero joined so anything is possible left Madrid for a Europa league side π.

It's was ten hag job to get champions league football not the league title and also to actually sign some what decent players rather than Europa league or Sunday league players such as Maguire, elanga, martial, Dalot, Mctominay, Fred and get the likes of Osimhen, Theo Hernandez, Hakimi, Musiala, Leao, Enzo fernandez big talent names.
