Manchester United's next manager will be backed to the tune of £200m in the summer, according to reports.

United's search for a new boss is progressing behind the scenes as the momentum of interim coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to gather pace.

Solskjaer has emerged as a contender to land the job permanently, while Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is another name in the frame to come in.

It is claimed by the Sun that whoever comes in will be handed a fifth of a billion pounds to refresh United's squad.

Solskjaer suggested last week that he will have a say in which players arrive at the club this summer - even if he isn't in charge to manage them.

“It comes down to playing style, how we want to look in one or two years' time, what kind of players we want and what kind of personalities we look for,” Solskjaer said, hinting at a possible advisory role.

“It's about finding players with the right Manchester United identity and DNA.”

Meanwhile, the agent of United's top defensive target Kalidou Koulibaly has ruled out a move to PSG for his client.

"PSG already have plenty of central defenders," Bruno Satin told French outlet Canal+. "Maybe he (Koulibaly) can play at No.10, they already play Marquinhos at No.6.

"But if Koulibaly leaves [Napoli], he will not come to PSG. His transfer could cost €100m (£87.5m)."
