Bryan Mbeumo's strike earned Manchester United a 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain at Nya Ullevi.
Match Report
Ibrahim Mbaye opened the scoring early on in what was PSG's second pre-season friendly, but United pulled one back through Mbeumo and could not find a winner despite their chances.
It was a dream start for PSG, who took just two minutes to break through United's defence. Dro Fernandez's low cross was turned home by an unmarked Mbaye at the far post.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then forced Tom Heaton into a sharp stop moments later before United gained some control in the match.
Mbeumo then saw a free-kick from the edge of the box pushed away, before Amad Diallo picked Axel Koukaba's pocket and slid it through for the Cameroonian to calmly pick out the bottom-right corner 32 minutes in.
Mbeumo forced Matvey Safonov into action again shortly after the break with his curler, while Quentin Ndjantou whipped a fierce strike just wide at the other end.
United countered quickly in the 73rd minute, with Joshua Zirkzee being wiped out by Safonov, who was near the centre circle to clear his lines. Jack Fletcher opted not to go for the empty net from distance, picking out Shea Lacey instead, but his shot deflected behind.
The returning Bruno Fernandes almost snatched an 89th-minute winner, bending a lovely effort from range towards the bottom-right corner, but it flew just wide.
United's wastefulness costs them against European champions
Despite a slow start from United, which PSG took full advantage of, Michael Carrick's side largely looked the more in control.
They racked up 14 shots, seven of which were on target, though they only had 1.48 expected goals (xG) to show for their efforts. PSG, by contrast, only had six attempts worth 0.68 xG.
It was not without cost, though. While more players returned from the World Cup and Youri Tielemans made his debut, Mason Mount and Heaton both went off injured.
For PSG, it was a vast improvement from their 3-0 loss to Mallorca last time out, but Luis Enrique will still feel his side are off the pace ahead of their Super Cup meeting with Aston Villa on Wednesday.

Thing is, Manchester United won the EPL in the year 2006/2007. We're about to start the 2026/2027 season. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Say hi, if trust Manchester United to win the EPL this coming season.

United not selling Mount is criminal. 250k a week and only plays for 10 matches a season. Shaw, Mount, Zirkzee need to be sold. Gotetzka, Dimarco, Vlahovic together will cost next to nothing and are much better replacements. I like Zirkzee, but he needs a much slower league to prosper. Dalot is another player, cruising just because he's young
