Manchester United are closing in on a deadline-beating loan deal for the former Watford forward Odion Ighalo after agreeing the switch with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
The Mail Online report that the 30-year-old has just under two years left on his staggering £300,000-a-week deal at Shanghai, with United agreeing to pay his £100,000-a-week for the remainder of this season.
There will also be a £4million loan fee, with both clubs set to review the situation at the end of the season as they look towards a permanent deal.
One man who is less than impressed with the move is the former Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock, who says he once tried and failed to sign Ighalo for his most recent club Cardiff City.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Warnock said: "His salary was over six figures a week, £100,000, something like that. His agent tells you one thing, then the other.
" Manchester United won't have that problem with the terms. I'm not sure he's the right player for United. He's not consistent and isn't the right type of player.
"They want young players. Why didn't they go for Danny Ings? He's someone similar to Marcus Rashford. It's desperation."

Senseless people condemning him because he’s Nigerian. If he’s not good a club like ManU won’t come. Barca asked for his loan move last year too he declined so what are you haters saying?

United needs this man now. Igalo is better than Rashford! We need a striker that is hungry for ball. Ole has really missed lukaku, now he wants replacement.

this is the problem just because you couldn't afford the player doesn't mean he is not good enough for man united cos if Lingard can play for united then ighalo is a decent player too.

Had a good scoring record at Watford in the EPL so he's familiar with English conditions. United need options in attack so with Ighalo and Bruno now in the team, the club is now in a stronger position. They just need an effective structure and identity when playing. They don'tcseem to have any coherent style of play..
