Less than two years on from the swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, neither player is still at the club they joined in January 2018.
Sanchez's loan switch to Inter Milan was confirmed last week, while Mkhitaryan arrived in Italy to undergo a medical with Roma on Monday morning.
The exchange between Manchester United and Arsenal was one of the most high-profile swap deals of all time when it took place but it did not work out for either player.
Sanchez scored just five goals in 45 appearances for United, while Mkhitaryan fared only slightly better, with nine goals in 59 games for the Gunners.
It would have been difficult to envisage the deal working out so poorly for both players at the time of its completion and some fans believe it should go down as the worst swap deal in history.
Disastrous.
Worst ever.
It has to be.
It's a close one.
No winner.
Sad state of affairs.
We can pretend.

This deal is the kind of deal that both Arsenal and United succeeded in defrauding one another... [Crylaugh] They're both atrocious to a nauseating degree, I personally never knew Sanchez could be this bad, he performed excellently for us

I just hope both teams in Italy won't swap them again in future

Thank God, we are grateful to this wonderful news... Manchester United wanted to outsmart us. Alexis cannot go, while his brother will remain.

Ramsey mocking Arsenal for letting him go

Actually I don’t think Arsenal is missing Ramsey at this point. He is still nursing his injury and has yet to play for Juv. If you think Ramsey will mock Arsenal then you know nothing about the man.

Not that bad a deal because Sanchez wanted away. ManU did not want to offer anybody else in swap deal. Gunners will be left with what Roma offers for Mk.

Guess We Should Have Just Stick To Them At Our Teams In The Beginning And Not Make The Swap Deal. Things Might Work Out Differently.

Both were ok where they were until that deal ended up making them one of the worst signings of their new clubs. Sanchez off to Italy to awaken his sleeping career while Miki still got to deal with Gooners/Gunners.
