The winter transfer window is closed as far as incomings go at Manchester United, but the Old Trafford exit door remains open.
Ruben Amorim was only able to welcome two new signings, £30million left-back Patrick Dorgu and 18-year-old Arsenal defender Ayden Heaven. United fans had been urging the club to sign a striker but after missing out on Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel to Tottenham, the Red Devils opted against bolstering Amorim's forward line.
Languishing 13th in the Premier League table following Sunday's humiliating 2-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace, United will have to make do without any further additions until the summer. Amorim can, though, continue to streamline his squad by getting rid of players to countries where the transfer window is still open.
There's already been a number of couple of high-profile departures, with Marcus Rashford and Antony completing loan moves to Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively. Meanwhile, youngsters Ethan Ennis, Joe Hugill, Ethan Williams, Ethan Wheatley, Jack Kingdon, Dan Gore, Sam Mather and Louis Jackson have all been loaned to clubs in the League One, League Two or the National League.
But United aren't done sanctioning loan departures, as Tyrell Malacia is undergoing a medical ahead of joining PSV Eindhoven. This is due to deadline day in the Netherlands being on Tuesday. PSV are expected to wrap up the deal soon and they'll likely have the option to sign Malacia permanently in the summer, with Dorgu's arrival knocking the Dutchman down the pecking order.
The Eredivisie transfer window staying open also means that there's still a chance Christian Eriksen could rejoin former club Ajax, having made his name there as a youngster. Ajax sporting director Marijn Beuker confirmed in September that the club had looked into a move for the midfielder, whose contract at United expires in June.
Should any of United's players fancy a move to Turkey in the coming days, they have another week to engineer one. The Super Lig's window closes next Tuesday, February 11, and multiple Red Devils stars have been tipped to link up with their former managers.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently look charge of Besiktas and although he didn't work with Casemiro at Old Trafford, the 32-year-old has been linked with a switch to Istanbul. Rivals Fenerbahce, who are managed by another ex-United boss in Jose Mourinho, are also claimed to be interested in Casemiro, although his huge £350,000-a-week wages could be a major stumbling block. Victor Lindelof is another player who's been tipped for a reunion with Mourinho.
Other windows that haven't closed yet include Portugal's Primeira Liga and the A-League in Australia, with both set to slam shut on February 4. In North America, the MLS transfer window only opened on Friday and doesn't shut until April 23.
United might have to make serious compromises during negotiations, though, as clubs all around the world know how desperate they are to lower their spending on wages and recoup any sort of transfer fee. Old Trafford chiefs recently confirmed that they're in danger of breaching the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.
It may've been a frustrating window thanks to a lack of new signings, but there's still time for the Red Devils to balance the books and ensure that Amorim's first summer is a lot more exciting.

You all must be sacked for being fake supporters, there's no champions league for next season period and he didn't get budget back up, so he must buy players with his own money?? You the first to praise every coach they sign and when you don't get results you again wants the coach out , how long will coaches get sacked because of your stupid opinions and comments and press that pressures boards to sack managers...
