ERIK TEN HAG is in hot water with Manchester United’s hierarchy after revealing details of their Ibiza summit.
The Red Devils boss was on holiday there when officials from the club turned up on his doorstep to ask him to continue as the club’s manager.
They also informed him they had spoken to other candidates, including former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, but that they wanted to keep the Dutchman on.
Ten Hag was understandably angry with how he had been treated and the way in which this message was delivered when he was supposed to be on a relaxing break.
But new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team are unhappy that what they thought was a private meeting was made public by the manager on Dutch television this week.
The club DO want Ten Hag, 54, to sign a new three-year deal but that is understandably some way from being agreed as yet.
Ratcliffe owns 27.7 per cent of United and has been tasked with looking after all football operations at the club.
He has Sir David Brailsford as his right-hand man and employed Jason Wilcox as technical director.
Meanwhile, incoming football director Dan Ashworth and CEO Omar Berrada are still seeing out gardening leave from their former clubs — Newcastle and Manchester City respectively.
It has not been a great start for the new regime as majority owners, the Glazer family, take a back seat.
Ratcliffe and Co have angered staff behind the scenes with criticisms in emails, while also offering redundancy packages. They wanted to give Ten Hag one of those, too, after the club finished a record low of eighth in the Premier League last season.
But United’s surprise FA Cup final win over champions City saw a wave of support from fans swing behind Ten Hag.
This rattled Ratcliffe and his team and they bought themselves time by claiming a season’s review was needed before making a final decision.
Then, after no new suitable candidate wanted the job or could be found, they decided to keep Ten Hag.
It all adds up to a mess with the clock ticking down to United’s first pre-season game against Norwegian outfit Rosenborg in Trondheim on July 15.
And the spotlight will be on them at full beam as they get the new Prem season under way at home to Fulham on opening night, August 16.

Man u couldn’t do any good player signing this season, as: 1) Good players always keep their eye on Champions League 2) Top players do not chose Man u as all of us know ETH have favor ajax players rather than other 3) No top player dont trust on ETH, where as Zidane, Murinho, Gardiolas request couldn’t be turned down by any top player .

The club disrespected Ten Hag by speaking to other coaches while he was still on the job. Had things worked out well with the other managers they would not have gotten back to him to say that he should continue. If I were Ten Hag I will walk away because at any slightest opportunity they will sack him as they don't have confidence in him already
your news if half way there, 😜

media at it again, trying so hard and making sure that ETH get sacked..
Media wont get him sacked, did the owners listen to the haters? Nope hense why he stayed and rightly so. Thank god they didn't listen to the fake fans who have 0 ball knowledge 😂, ten hag is better than any available manager out there so would been horrible to see who we would have gotten (0 cups Potter or clueless shitgate)

The retaining of ETH perhaps was the most wrong thing that had been done by the MU owners before the season starts. This guy got nothing good but a big mouth. Good Luck to MU !
Here you focus on your baldy, he's are baldy. Enjoy the struggle that will come mate, klopp is gone and won't be coming back the sunshine and rainbows have left anfield the dark clouds and rain is coming and it will stay for years to come enjoy them. The guy won a cup both seasons hes here pretty impressive. And won one of them in a season with 64 injuries something klopp and the bald guy you have now never done.

ETH correct in speaking his mind since the hierarchy disrespect him only to give him credit for his work under extreme circumstances with ref to squad injuries especially his entire backs

Says a man whose team has hired a new manager let's wait and see how arne slot will fare. It may even become the worst decision they made even before the season ended

What should he do while the chiefs gone behind him to talk to other Coaches without informing him and he was not even sacked at the time before they were talking to others. He has every right to let the world know what happened.
EtH is also an employee, he’s being paid by the club. Ronaldo went to the media to let the world knows, but y’all bashed him and called him some sort of names. EtH should have his own taste of medicine. He keeps complaining about everything. I’m not seeing EtH doing anything than having the domestic cups and as a Man UTD fan, I’m not satisfied, we should be there up top. We are not Arsenal, claiming that they have a legacy in the FA cup, whereas leading Man UTD with one FA cup. No legacy in the PL or Champions League, but bragging about FA cup. Really? They’ve never had a super cup or club World Cup btw. Mediocrity

Why are they angry…bunch of scums…why won’t ETH gloat this way when you should have sacked him long before now🙄 You end up with other managers rejecting the job then run back with your tail between your legs to offer him a new contract….DUMBASSES🫏 A coach who failed woefully with injury his excuse gloating all around like an idot throwing shades here & there… Why won’t autty post it💁🏾♂️ at the end of the day that’s how he earns a living…MUFC are the ones to stop giving media shits to post about them. Right now our club is in the gutters… But i believe ONE DAY SOON WE WILL RISE AGAIN LIKE THE PHOENIX FROM THE ASHES TO FALL NO MORE♥️♥️♥️GGMU 4Eva
I swear. Imagine me investing my money and an employee is fucking around with me in the media. Those INEOS are the same as the GLAZERS. Put your money where your mouth is. I’m not seeing this UTD team United in anytime very soon, we are so far away until we face the reality that EtH is not Ferguson. Maybe a domestic cup coach, but I’m not seeing him doing greatness. Many UTd fans can bash me, but it’s a reality check.

Fuming for what you knobheads , why did you tell him about him being the last option after interviewing a number of managers and failed to land one . That on its own is an insult .
