Manchester United have announced the signing of Nathan Bishop from Southend United, on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Bishop joined Blues at the age of 16 and his hard work and dedication saw him make huge strides in the academy, impressing enough to progress into the first team squad at a young age and eventually making his professional debut as an 18-year-old against Scunthorpe United in 2017.
It was the following season that the shot-stopper had an extended run in the side, featuring 21 times in total before making a further 17 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
His work ethic and attitude has been exceptional during his time at the club and Bishop moves onto pastures new in the Premier League with the best wishes of everyone at Southend United.
After making the next step in his career, the 20-year-old was quick to thank those who have helped him during his time in Essex.
“I’ve loved every second at Southend,” said Bishop. “It was an honour to play for the club.
“I want to thank everyone who I met from managers, coaching staff, the guys in the kitchen and everyone, especially the fans for accepting me and helping me throughout my time at the club.
“I also want to thank Lee Harrison and Ox [Mark Oxley]. Both had a massive part to play in everything that happened for me at Southend and I’m truly grateful for all the help and support they gave me!
“I wish Southend the best of luck for the future.”

For those saying we need a striker why are we wasting time with this lad, you’re missing the point. The budget allocation for the first team is separate from youth investment. That’s why the media kept reporting that United bid £25m for Bellingham while Ed was busy haggling over £5m on the Bruno deal.

You're lucky boy, you will be under a great goal keeper called Lord De Gea and you'll learn much from him... Good for you and God bless you.❤❤❤

We need striker please....I still don’t see any reason why Ed Woodward is wasting time to sign him or Willian Jose when the January transfer window is about to close
