Man Utd consider moves for Zaha or Depay if they fail to sign Sancho (Express)

Manchester United are considering moves for former players Wilfried Zaha or Memphis Depay if they fail to sign Jadon Sancho in the next transfer window, according to reports.

After an astonishing breakout campaign last year, Sancho has been even better this season and currently has 17 goals and 19 assists in 35 games to his name.

It's expected that Sancho will leave Germany in the summer to move to one of Europe's elite clubs but Dortmund have made it clear that they won't be letting him go on the cheap.

However, the Express claim it's unlikely that United will spend the quoted £120million for Sancho when football and the transfer market is in flux due to the coronavirus outbreak.

It's claimed that United may be forced to sought cheaper alternatives to improve their attack and could turn to former players Memphis or Zaha.

Memphis arrived at United under much acclaim from PSV but failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford and was sold to French side Lyon just 18 months later. The Dutchman has since developed into a fine striker and was given the captain's armband before an ACL injury ruled him out until July.

Despite his struggles at United, the club still saw enough potential in Memphis to inset a buy-back clause into his contract when selling him to the Ligue 1 club.

However, there wasn't one in the deal that saw Zaha return to Crystal Palace after a poor spell at United, including time spent on-loan at Cardiff City - where he played under Solskjaer.

The Ivorian has also gone on to become a brilliant player, but is contracted at Palace until 2023 and would also likely cost a lot to pry away.

Elsewhere, reports in Spain suggest United have made contact with Barcelona over signing Samuel Umtiti.

Sport, via SportWitness, reports that Barcelona need to raise funds for the summer transfer window and that United are interested in the defender.

However, MEN Sport understand a centre-back is not on Solskjaer's list of priorities in the upcoming window following last summer's acquisition of Harry Maguire.
