Manchester United are one of a number of clubs said to be interested in striking a loan deal with Real Madrid, as Benjamin Sesko could be set for more competition up front
Manchester United are eyeing up a winter loan move for Real Madrid's young star, Endrick. The 19-year-old is said to be unhappy in the Spanish capital after falling out of favour.
The Brazilian sensation is back to fitness following a hamstring injury, but has yet to return to the pitch. Despite being named as a substitute for six consecutive matches by Real's head coach Xabi Alonso, he has been overlooked in favour of Gonzalo Garcia on multiple occasions.
Last season, under Carlo Ancelotti, Endrick was also used sparingly, starting only eight games. However, he still managed to rack up 37 appearances across all competitions, netting seven goals and providing one assist. Endrick, who has been dubbed 'the next Ronaldo', is growing increasingly eager to leave Madrid. He has told his representatives that unless there's a significant change in his situation, he'll be looking to move on in January.
The 19-year-old cost Real £61million from Palmeiras in 2024, but has started just three league games. United are among the clubs said to be interested in taking the teenager on loan in the New Year. Juventus, Newcastle United and West Ham United are also reportedly keen.
If the Brazilian were to end up at Old Trafford, it would see Benjamin Sesko plunged into a new fight for the starting striker spot, with Matheus Cunha already providing stiff competition.
Cunha was used instead of Sesko at Anfield on Sunday and did a wonderful job as Ruben Amorim's men claimed a vitally important 2-1 victory.
Sesko, who has largely been used from the bench this season, has netted twice in his nine matches for the club and came on for the last 30 minutes against Liverpool. Endirck moving to United is, however, by no means a formality, with several other clubs interested.
French outlet L'Equipe suggests that Marseille are also interested in signing Endrick to cover for Amine Gouiri and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the Africa Cup of Nations.
Spanish clubs Real Sociedad and Valencia have also been mentioned as potential suitors, while Paris Saint-Germain have been tentatively linked.
Alonso, however, spoke about the possibility of Endrick and Garcia departing on loan in January following their 1-0 victory over Getafe on Sunday.
"I'm not thinking about it at the moment," he said, "it's not on my mind. Both are ready to play. It's a position where competition is fierce."
