Manchester United have been prepared to cash in on Alejandro Garnacho after the winger made his plans clear but there's still work to do regarding the Chelsea target
Chelsea are not prepared to meet Manchester United's valuation for Alejandro Garnacho, it has been claimed. United have been after £50million for the winger - down on their asking price from January - but front-runners Chelsea aren't prepared to go that high.
Garnacho has been on the lookout for a United exit since head coach Ruben Amorim dropped him to the bench for the Europa League final in May. He was left out of Amorim's pre-season tour squad, but - while fellow 'bomb squad' member Marcus Rashford has sealed a loan move away - the Argentine is still at Old Trafford for now.
According to The Mail, Chelsea's valuation sits between £25m and £35m. The Blues are believed to have agreed terms with the player, who has reportedly turned down interest from elsewhere - something which could be to Chelsea's benefit in negotiations with United.
United have attempted to justify their valuation by pointing to Chelsea's sale of Noni Madueke, according to The Times. Madueke, who scored seven goals to Garnacho's six across comparable league minutes last term, joined Arsenal for £48m plus add-ons in July.
In the meantime, Chelsea are close to sealing an exit of their own. Roma are reportedly close to a deal for Tyrique George, who broke through during last season's Conference League run but has dropped below new signings Estevao and Jamie Gittens in the pecking order.
Garnacho isn't the only United player who the club are keen to offload before Monday's Premier League transfer deadline. Rasmus Hojlund looks set for Napoli, having missed out on a spot in Amorim's squad for the first two games of the new season.
Antony's move to Real Betis remains possible, though the terms of a deal have yet to be ironed out. Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are also surplus to requirements, but finding a buyer for either player has proved tricky.
United are due to take on Grimsby in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, with a first win of the season their target. After losing at home to Arsenal on the opening weekend, an Emile Smith Rowe equaliser denied Amorim's side victory at Fulham.
“Yes. Yes, we have three games this week, we have quality players, and we need to do rotation to try to win every game,” Amorim said when asked if he would rotate for the cup tie.
He also indicated Hojlund could be in contention to feature despite continued speculation over the striker's future, adding: “All the players are available. Then we will make the choice to get the best starting XI to win every game.”

Atleast they are better than you. besides, the players in motion are still developing despite their already proven abilities. dont sell young, you never know what the future hold. See Scott.

Considering the possibility of selling Mainoo while retaining Casemiro, it raises some concerns. It seems that there are doubts regarding Amorin's approach, suggesting a potential for disruption rather than constructive development. It is believed that Amad, Mainoo, and Garnacho represent the future of the team, and selling them could jeopardize Amorin's position. While the sale of Sancho, Malacia, and Antony is acceptable, the potential sale of Mainoo is strongly opposed. The example of Sergio Busquets is cited, highlighting the importance of tactical intelligence and control in midfield rather than solely relying on speed. Football is emphasized as a game of strategy and skill, not just athleticism.

Ganarcho is going for nothing less than $70 million so if Chelsea can’t pay that they should back off and then keep garnahco on the bench for the rest of the season

just the talk chochocho 😩. football is business and for pure profit. you keep him a full season without playing and pay him weekly for the whole season. Are you okay ? do you think it will affect his career? na only form him go loose, thereafter he starts balling. cashing out on him is a priority and to free Manchester United wages and balance PFF rules.

look, I am a Chelsea fan what I do not support is the way board is handling these two players transfer issue, Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho deal not the clubs so much but the players who are coming Ok, look at their interest, commitment and loyalty shown to our club... so please 🙏🙏 let us not dash these guys efforts..... They have shown us much love, interest and loyalty........ so let show them the same in return....
We are no longer interested in Xavi Simons bro,Fermin Lopez is our target now.COYB, KTBFFH 👍👍👍👍

real batis can't afford 30m let alone pay for Anthony & as for Garnacho, He was up for sale for 70m & United have dropped it to 50m, when you look @ Jacksons price Chelsea have put up then 50m for Garnacho is a steel
Oh I promise you that they can actually, they've made some sales and can sign him for at least 40m but why would they do it when they can try to save money and go for loan again

Leave him on the bench to rot, he wil do the same thing with Chelsea with his bad attitude 😒
Chelsea already did a background check on Garnacho already so you don’t need to worry about Us
