Manchester United target Jules Kounde has seen Sevilla slash £20m off his valuation.

The centre-half is on the Red Devils radar as they consider their options this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has scouted Kounde and would've had to pay £70m to secure his services.

But the La Liga outfit are now ready to accept offers of around £50m, reports the Sun.

The former Bordeaux defender has played a starring role this term with Sevilla occupying a Champions League spot in La Liga.

The Frenchman played in his side's Europa League semi-final win over United last season en route to winning the competition.

He was close to a Manchester City switch last summer before the deal collapsed late in the day.

United are now viewing him as partner for Harry Maguire as doubts continue over the likes of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

Kounde has a £70,000-a-week contract that runs until 2024, but the Red Devils are ready to double his wages.

The Sevilla star is one of several players on the club's shortlist as they seek new faces in the summer.

Real Madrid's Raphael Varane could quit the Bernabeu and has been linked with an Old Trafford switch.

Brighton's Ben White is another player who has been touted as a potential signing.

Former United man Gary Neville claimed recently that the Red Devils will not win the title until they recruit a top quality centre-half.

“We can talk about Sancho all we like but until United get a centre back who can run and defend one-on-ones they are never going to win the league,” he told Sky Sports.

“They are never going to win the Premier League with that centre back pairing.

"They have to get a mobile, dominant centre half in alongside either Lindelof or Maguire.”
