Manchester United made an enquiry for Julian Brandt last week, only to be told the Germany international was already joining Borussia Dortmund.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United made contact with Bayer Leverkusen but were met with the news that a transfer had already been sealed.
Brandt's move to Dortmund, for around £20m, was confirmed on Wednesday.

This worries me a lot as we know we are up for De Light and Koulibaly but their chances of joining us are slim,but we will go all out for them instead of moving on from them if we are unable to make a deal.Maguire and Ruben Dias are also available but instead of going for these realistic targets we will end up wasting time on difficult or almost impossible targets like De Light,Koulibaly,Varane.Just like we are trying to sign Kroos,Rakitic and could miss out on other talented players like Tielemans just like we missed on Brandt.
