At one stage it looked like Manchester United were set for a hectic year of transfer dealings.
They splashed the cash on Fred in the summer and were linked with a number of big name targets, particularly defensively.
Yet the sacking of Jose Mourinho just before the January transfer window prompted a change of approach, with the club set to wait patiently until the summer when their managerial situation is permanently sorted.
The Red Devils allowed some younger players to leave on loan in January, whilst they've had positive contract news regarding David De Gea and Anthony Martial to give them a boost.
But with just three summer additions and no notable outgoings, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will work with largely the same squad Mourinho had at his disposal for the rest of the season.
Here's a look at all United's transfer dealings this season - although there's still a chance Marouane Fellaini could complete a move to China with their transfer window still open.
IN: Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk, £53.1m), Diogo Dalot (FC Porto, £19.8m), Lee Grant (Stoke City, £1.53m)
OUT: Daley Blind (Ajax, £14.4m), Sam Johnstone (West Bromwich Albion, £6.6m), Ethan Hamilton (Rochdale, loan), Regan Poole (Newport, loan), Ro-Shaun Williams (Shrewsbury, undisclosed), Zak Dearnley (Oldham, loan), Joel Pereira (KV Kortrijk, loan), Callum Whelan (Port Vale, loan), Matty Willock (Crawley, loan), Tom Sang (Fylde, loan)
NET SPEND: £53.4m

Thats y they dey don't want to spend on more players because ole is almost permanent .....bro....thats y ed wood is critical on not spending coz he knos wat is next is bringing up young expensive players
Dude, i dont trust that Ed Woodward to make the right decision. his decisions on recruitment over the last 5yrs is the very reason Man Utd have been struggling Until Sir Alex had to advice him to being in Ole this time. And am sure he still thinking abt bring in another manager totally outside the club's system which is unacceptable...

Lukaku is not a player who start the game...he must always play last minute s 15minute is enough for him.

the truth is United will suffer for Nat strengthening the squad.. we are still stuck with players like Jones young, Sanchez, lukaku, matic, lingard, mata when we had the chance of signing players with character

Sanchez shouldn't be sold but indeed given more playing time. Sanchez is a mature attacker and has played for great clubs why bring in an immature attacker that will require more time to perform. Okay look at the top five clubs attacker or even that of Barça, Bayern, Real and other teams
Do you know what you're saying?

If Man Utd r interested in building a new winning team with less cost they should make Ole's deal a permanent one. there is no other manager who could do a better job than Ole. even the so called experienced managers r a total disaster when they take the job. OGS's presence at Old Trafford alone could attract their transfer targets. That Scumbag called Ed Woodward shuld knw this!

this is the best time for Ole to continue his good spell with the players. ... I think with his mentality of giving the players free will on the pitch.... he might explore and get a starting team ...that is what we have been yearning for since FAGRE left as manager like mou usually says, city, Liverpool, wasn't built been stingy... you analyze the leakages and go for the potential remedy... ed you need to spend to get best to compete

Man U is putting on in the transfer window the same attitude just like they did in the match against Burnley. At times its like the board doesn't want to move,to take actions.Man U chances of winning the FA cup and especially the Champions League if they splash out money(which they have) for a world class defender like Koulibaly or even Maguire.. but dat dump of Ed wood.... .. I really can't tell his problem.can someone help me out

among Clubs chair leaders we have, Manchester United Mr woodward is leading in foolishness, . Woodward is against man u upright glory.. Woodward should leave Old Trafford quick.. coz instead of selling Fellaini who saved man u many times, who saved Belgium from Japan with late header.. #Woodward would have instead sell Jones,Smalling, Bailly, Fred,. not fellaini.. Woodward is poisonous virus disease hence killing man u.
Let Fellaini go simple.Fred we need him

MU are 6th on the table cause they spent less than their top 6 rivals. They are now a business club not a winning club. A club like MU must always spend more than its rivals and stay 10 steps ahead.

actually I thing the next transfer window should be the one that United shall have spend much on,they need to get rid of these lazy defenders and buy new ones, get a midfielder to cover up Pogba and Herrera

And of all the signings, Fred has been no where near justifying his price tag, Diogo Dalot is young and Lee grant, I don't know how many times he has even donned the united Jersey
grant lee isn't bought to play... he will only play if Romero and De Gea cant playe for whatever reason. Grant Lee knows that. He said it already that he will hardly play or may not even play anymore.
