Man Utd receive Eduardo Camavinga boost amid transfer chase for Rennes star

Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Edouardo Camavinga.

The Rennes teenager is among the brightest young talents in Europe and has a host of clubs eyeing his signature.

PSG and Real Madrid are ready to rival United for his services and the Ligue 1 side face up to his likely departure.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add a central midfielder which has led to his interest in Camavinga.

Rennes are clearly planning for life without the 18-year-old with talks underway regarding a move for AZ Alkmaar's Teun Koopmeiners, reports GFFN

Koopmeiners is a Dutch U21 international and captain of AZ Alkmaar.

The 23-year-old is also capable of playing in the same role as Camavinga.

Solskjaer regularly picked Fred and Scott McTominay at the base of midfield whilst Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba have also played there.

But Camavinga would add more energy to United's engine room as they continue to bolster their options.

Jadon Sancho is set to sign from Borussia Dortmund with an announcement imminent in the coming days.

Raphael Varane and Kieran Trippier are also of interest with both moves on the cards, according to The Sun.

Camavinga's representative, Jonathan Barnett, who also deals with Gareth Bale and Jack Grealish, is in no rush to make a decision however.

Earlier this year he told SNTV : "Believe me we have a lot of offers for this year, a lot of offers, and good ones. I mean top, top clubs. We don’t want to rush. There is the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age.

"Playing in a good club is nice for him. It might be this year, or he wants to have another year.

"He has got to talk to his family, his father. We will all sit down and decide. We will talk to Rennes as well and decide. There is no rush for him.

"He’s probably the best young player in the world. He has just turned 18. He has already been a French international. He’s an unbelievable talent.

"He could play in any team in the world. He is still going to be a great talent at 19. It’s not that old you know, 19."

Camavinga's contract is winding down and with just 12 months remaining on it Rennes could cash in on the midfielder for as little as £25m.
