Manchester United have completed the signing of 6ft 2in Polish teenager Lukasz Bejger from Lech Poznan.
The versatile defender had been interesting Manchester City until their rivals beat them to his signature following a trial at Old Trafford.
Bejger, 16, was not included in United's academy intake last month as they awaited international clearance on the defender.
United initially agreed the deal for Bejger in January after his trial in August last year.
Poland Under-16 international Bejger made his youth debut for the national team against Scotland in September and captained the U16s against Moldova earlier this year.
Bejger is primarily a centre-back but can also play at right-back.
United academy head Nicky Butt has overseen an aggressive recruitment drive over the last two years in an effort revitalise the club's youth set-up, which was left in a state of flux following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
Slovakian teenager Martin Svidersky, 15, was also unveiled by United at their Carrington training complex in April.
Following his move to United, Svidersky wrote on his Instagram page: "A Dream Come True. A day i will never forget. Delighted to sign my first contract with Manchester United.
"I would like to thank my family, friends but especially GOD for a big support.
"Many more things to come in future."
United fought off competition from Chelsea for Svidersky.
In September, United added Piotr Sadowski - previously with Lech Poznan - to their European scouting network and Bejger will hope to become the first outfield Polish player to represent the United first-team.
Scout Budimir Vujacic also contacted Partizan Belgrade on behalf of United to register their interest in 18-year-old Serbian Svetozar Markovic.
Markovic made his career debut in February and started 10 of Partizan's last 11 league games last term - and has been compared to Sergio Ramos.
Tahith Chong, Lee O'Connor, Nishan Burkart, Millen Baars, Joshua Bohui, France youth international Aliou Traore, Spaniard Arnau Puigmal and Harvey Neville are among the high-profile youngsters who have arrived since Butt replaced Brian McClair in February 2016.
