If anybody needs the January transfer window right now, it's Manchester United.
The Red Devils have struggled pretty much from the get go and the pressure is beginning to mount on Erik ten Hag once again in the wake of Saturday night's disappointing 2-1 defeat against Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest.
Ten Hag will be hopeful of getting the green light to draft in reinforcements ahead of the second half of the season but it remains to be seen what funds the Dutchman will have to work with after spending big in the summer window. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest transfer news from Old Trafford...
Ten Hag seals first deal
Manchester United have activated the one-year option in Victor Lindelof's contract, ensuring the defender will remain contracted until the summer of 2025.
The Sweden international, 29, was due to be a free agent at the end of the season but has been an important player for Erik ten Hag this term, making 18 appearances in all competitions.
Lindelof is one of United's longest serving players having joined from Benfica back in 2019 and has made 249 appearances since signing on at Old Trafford.
Todibo talks stall
Tottenham's talks with OGC Nice over a deal for Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo have stalled.
Mirror Football understands United held positive talks with Todibo and the player's camp but Nice, owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are reluctant to part with their prize defender midway through the season.
Ange Postecoglou is eager to bring in defensive reinforcements as soon as possible and Tottenham have now turned their attention to Genoa's Radu Dragusin in the hope of striking a swift deal for the £25million-rated central defender.
Barcelona eye Greenwood
La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to firm up their interest in Mason Greenwood with a £40million offer.
That's according to The Sun, who claim that Barcelona are even willing to offer the versatile forward Lionel Messi's coveted No.10 shirt in a bid to lure him to the Nou Camp.
Greenwood is currently on loan in Spain with Getafe and has no future at Manchester United. Other European clubs have also been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old in recent weeks, although it remains to be seen if United will sell in January.

The issue at Man U is not the coach, but the second class players they have. They can get both Carlo Anchelotti and Pep guadiola at the same time, but can still continue losing because of the calibre of players that are have. Which player is good at Man U? Nome
Exactly. People don’t understand this. These players can’t play the philosophy that ETH wants that’s the simple truth

If Erik ten Hag will still be in Manchester United team as a coach, no good player can agree with the transfer window to join Manchester United team. Erik ten Hag is the one who brought a lot of former players from where he was before becoming M United team Coach and he made the team worse than any other past Coaches. He has destroyed Manchester United team and still Manchester United Management want Erik ten Hag to continue destroying the team and also fighting with players he doesn’t like such as Ronaldo or Sancho. The only solution is to fire Erik et hag.

Man united needed Todibo and a loan of Dembele. With this players they will be good. Anthony and Sancho should be loaned out to create space for registering those players and if possible a sale of V. D. Beek

For me, if you truly love Greenwood you will support me and advice him not to come back to Manchester United (with reasons) He should just accept this Barcelona offer is for his own good🤷🚶🚶🚶

ETH says he is the right manager to lead us but lead us where. ? He has been saying a lot about our players and not taking responsibility for his tactics and blaming the players saying they are not consistent but he calls all the shots so what do have to believe ?
