Man Utd transfer news: Greenwood exit talks held as Jim Ratcliffe eyes reunion

Manchester United remain keen on offloading some of their biggest names with discussions over Mason Greenwood 's exit ongoing.

The club are hoping to have sold him before their summer tour to the USA and there is no shortage of buyers. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is willing to see a number of his squad leave for the right price. Jadon Sancho's feud with Erik ten Hag saw him loaned out last term and a permanent exit is now expected.

Any departures will help raise funds for United, who are working with a limited budget. Ten Hag has spent big on players, many of whom are yet to deliver. The Dutchman has problem areas he wants to address with a new centre-half among the positions he will target this summer.

Greenwood talks held with Marseille

Marseille are the latest club to contact United about Greenwood. The Red Devils have held discussions with the Ligue 1 outfit, who have just appointed former Brighton coach Roberto de Zerbi, and Lazio about Greenwood. The French club's interest has been described as "serious" according to the MEN.

Greenwood is being tracked by the likes Juventus, Napoli, Valencia and Benfica but the Manchester club's valuation is proving to much for several suitors. Lazio considered signing the forward last year and discussions with the Rome club are understood to be ongoing.

United sources last week described Greenwood's probable departure as more "advanced" than Sancho's. United are proactively seeking a buyer for both players with the former able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement come the New Year.

Ndoye's Euros attracts interest

Switzerland winger Dan Ndoye has emerged as a target for United after a breakout period at Euro 2024. The 23-year-old, who plays his club football for Bologna, missed out on Switzerland's World Cup squad in 2022 but is part of Murat Yakin's group in Germany.

He started all three group games as Switzerland finished second behind the hosts, against whom he netted in a 1-1 draw. Were United to push for Ndoye's signing, it would be the second time the player has signed for a Jim Ratcliffe side. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the part-owner of the Premier League outfit, took the youngster to Nice in 2019 after Ndoye came through the ranks at another club in his portfolio, Lausanne-Sport.

According to Sky Italy, Ndoye has 'entered United's sights' after impressing but he is also said to be on the radar of several Italian clubs, Among that number is Inter Milan, the current Serie A champions

Ugarte price tag

The Red Devils have been told it will take £50m to land Manuel Ugarte from PSG this summer. The Uruguay midfielder is key transfer target for the Ten Hag's side - just one year after leaving Sporting Lisbon for Paris.

United are believed to have seen an opening bid of £25m for Ugarte dismissed earlier this week, but the Telegraph understands PSG want to recoup their original outlay.

The club are looking for a defensive midfielder amid doubts about the long-term future of Casemiro. The Brazilian has a contract until 2026 and is one of the club's highest earners, but endured a poor campaign last term and there is talk of him being moved on.
