Manchester United have finally completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo in a potential £71million transfer deal and now the Red Devils are focussed on selling Ruben Amorim's unwanted players
Manchester United's summer sale is now on. The Red Devils are actively working on offloading players, having finally confirmed their second major signing of the transfer window on Monday.
United welcomed Bryan Mbeumo after striking a deal with Brentford following weeks of fraught negotiations. Cameroon international Mbeumo arrives for a fixed fee of £65million plus £6m in performance related add-ons.
Mbeumo's addition follows that of Matheus Cunha, who the Red Devils had less hassle signing by triggering his £62.5million release clause at Wolves. Diego Leon is United's lesser-known third addition and the left wing-back made his non-competitive debut during Saturday's uninspiring 0-0 draw with Leeds.
Now the focus is on selling players, particularly the five members of Ruben Amorim's bomb squad: Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia. Only one of those, however, looks certain to depart.
Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.
Rashford dealt setback in Barcelona
Marcus Rashford could be made to wait longer than anticipated to make his La Liga debut. Rashford, 27, will be unveiled by Barca on Wednesday, having arrived in the city on Sunday night before filming his announcement video on Tuesday.
But as things stand, Barcelona can't register their loanee with La Liga, according to Sky Sports. Registration issues have been a recurring them in Catalunya over the past few seasons amid Barca's well-documented financial woes.

Gyokeres on verge of joining Arsenal
Arsenal are on the cusp of reaching a full agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign Viktor Gyokeres, days after it was claimed that Manchester United were planning to hijack the transfer. Swedish striker Gyokeres had been tipped to reunite with Ruben Amorim, who brought him to Lisbon in 2023.
But the Athletic report that a conclusion in talks between Arsenal and Sporting is now imminent, with only the finishing touches needed. Gyokeres, 27, will be in line to make his competitive debut for the Gunners at Old Trafford on Sunday, August 17.

Villa name Martinez asking price
Aston Villa will demand a cool £40million for Emiliano Martinez after rejecting Manchester United's first offer. Martinez, 32, is a target for the Red Devils, who are interested in signing a new goalkeeper.
But, of course, United are on a tight budget, so club chiefs initially made an approach to sign the Argentina international on loan. Villa rejected that offer and the the Mail report that they'll only be willing to accept a bid of at least £40m.

how on earth that martinez price at 40mil n rashford price at 40mil also... this is a bad arrangement from our management n recruitment team... too obvious that we told the media we dowan all that players..of cos the team that wanted to buy them will push to lower the price so that we can get rid off those players that we dowan... this is not the way to use...
