Timothy Fosu-Mensah said he is focused on being at Manchester United after making his long awaited return from injury.

"I am focusing on being here, we have a lot of games. It's good to be at Manchester United," Fosu-Mensah said.

Fosu-Mensah has made 12 Premier League appearances for United and the last time he made an outing for the first team was on the final day of the 2016/17 season in the home win against Crystal Palace.

Solskjaer is open to some of the younger players going on loan this season but spoke about Fosu-Mensah and Eric Bailly's returns from injury as boosts for his first team squad, suggesting the 22-year-old has a role to play before the end of the season.

"Eric (Bailly) and Tim (Fosu-Mensah) are going to play in the reserves, so that will be a positive for them," Solskjaer told MUTV.

"They have been waiting for a long time and training for a while now, so it will be good to see them in the proper kit.

"That's what they need, and they need that for their own confidence because it is a mental hurdle going from being injured to training.

"Then it is a bigger leap when you get into a competitive game, when you've got to put everything in every tackle. It will be interesting to see.

"I'm sure they are ready, they have been working hard in training, very focused. So, it is two new players for us."
