Guardiola's side had no difficulty against the Sicilians, who will make their away debut in the Coppa Italia against Cremonese next Saturday.

Palermo against Manchester City lived up to expectations. A great crowd, with almost 35,000 spectators present, goals and spectacle on the pitch, from the English, and a good test for Pippo Inzaghi's line-up, despite the technical difference.

In the end, Pep Guardiola 's team won 3-0 in the family-friendly (both clubs are part of the City Football Group), valid for the first Anglo-Palermitan Trophy, a trophy to celebrate the 125-year history of the Rosanero club.

Musical dedication

The pre-match was spectacular, with three songs sung in the midfield by Rose Villain, and a choreography of the North Curve, to the notes of 'Live Forever' by Oasis, dedicated to the Gallagher brothers as Palermo fans.

A good start by the Sicilians, spurred on by the crowd, was not enough to put City in difficulty, who, after a slow start, began to move well and dominate the field.

Guardiola's captain, Erling Haaland, put Guardiola's side ahead in the 25th minute when he unleashed a shot that left Alfred Gomis with no chance in the Palermo goal.

The Rosanero, considering the quality of their opponents, tried to play as much as possible, trying not to concede space to their opponents. This was successful for the rest of the first half, but in the second half, they capitulated twice more.

Reijnders decisive

The English, reinforced by the changes - Guardiola changed 10 players for the second half - doubled the score with new signing Tijjani Reijnders. The former AC Milan man made it 2-0 in the 59th minute and then closed the score in the 82nd minute to make it 3-0.

The Dutchman also had the ball for a personal hat-trick on the stroke of half-time, but he lost the time to close in on goal after skipping past the opposing goalkeeper.

For Inzaghi's side, however, it was an important test ahead of their Coppa Italia match away against Cremonese next Saturday. For Guardiola, on the same day, the Premier League start at Wolverhampton.
